to the February 2012 Design Fest Hunt. We are proud to announce that the
Design Fest Hunt now has its own website. You will be able to find it at http://www.designfesthunt.com/ Here
you will be able to find information on what the hunt is about and who is
involved. You will find out who the Owner/Designers are, and you will be able
to meet the Bears who moderate the DFH group. Some of
the designs will be hidden on the DFH website, so be sure to check it out.
We love seeing photos of the finished projects, so please send them in when you finish a project. Not only is it a thrill for us but inspiration is what feeds our ambition. So, please post your photos in the DFH group and leave a message, so we can place them in the project section of the website.
The owners and moderators love chatting with everyone about almost anything, so stop by and say hi.
Make sure you read this Welcome Letter every month. This is your best source of the latest information, including who is participating in the hunt. Also, there is the Hints for Happy Hunting, with information on how to use the tools available. Also, please keep this document handy so you have any new news, number of designs and addresses of all the sites and yahoo groups. Also, just wanted you ALL to know that the Moderators of this group will be keeping track of who comes & goes in the group. If you join & then leave within the first month, you will be banned & not allowed to rejoin. We have to put a stop to members joining, grabbing the designs & then leaving. Stick around & get to know us. We are a great bunch of bears. So join in the fun & see for yourself.

A little information for you before you start hunting for all the great design files tucked away this month.
This month the designs are spread across 13 websites.

How we help you hunt:
The first way we help you is by writing a Welcome Letter each month. This letter is offered in three different formats: Word, PDF format and Text format. OpenOffice can be used to read the Word format. Please read it so you have the information you need to complete the hunt. The moderators do not give out the information contained in this document. Please print the list page of this letter so you will have the exact site URLs and Yahoo Group names for the hunt. You can also find the addresses and links to the other sites on all of the participating sites. If you open this document on your computer in Word you can go directly to any of the sites and Yahoo groups listed at the end of the document. All you need to do is hold down the Control key and click on the underlined name and it will take you there.
When you start to hunt is up to you, the hunt officially starts on the first of the month. At times, there are problems with the designs and they are not ready on the first of the month. There are also times when one or two of the sites is ready earlier than the other sites. This is dependent on the workload of the site owners and we are just grateful they take the time from their businesses to create and donate the designs to the Design Fest Hunt.
The second way we help is by providing the Hints for Happy Hunting document. Please read and print the Hints for Happy Hunting document and keep it near you when you are hunting. The Hints for Happy Hunting explains; how to hunt, how to organize your files, how to use the Yahoo search function and many other tips for enjoying the Hunt.
The third way we help is by providing a checklist to help you keep track of the designs you find during your hunt. A checklist is created every month that lists all of the design file names and a description of the design. It is developed and posted in the files area of the DFH (Design Fest Hunt) yahoo group. The name of the checklist includes ‘DFH’ and the month of the Hunt. It will be in three formats, Excel spreadsheet format, PDF format and Text format for those who cannot use either of the other formats. OpenOffice can be used to read the Excel format.
These Checklists help you keep track of the number of designs in each set, and if you mark them as you find them you will know how many you have left to find.
The fourth way we help you is by providing hints on the 15th of the month if you have paid for this option.
The Fifth way we help is at the end of the hunt – if you missed any designs, on some sites you can buy the individual design(s) at a great price during the next month. You may also buy all the sets for a great price if you don’t have time to hunt.
All of the owners want to sell what you want to use in your embroidery, so please use the DFH Yahoo Group to tell us what you like and don’t like in regard to the hunt designs and the designs on our sites. Discussions about individual designs or sets give all of us an opportunity to share in the embroidery process
