DFH For FEB Hunt

Officially we have 8 bear cubs who assist us with the hunt, in addition we have 1 who creates the pictures and animation pictures for each website.  Not all bears are visible to all of you, so take the time to learn about each one and what their awesome part in all of this endeavor.

I can assure you without their help, this hunt would not be still what it is today.  No way could we the digitizers, run our websites, our groups, digitize designs and answer all the questions generated on this hunt.

Thank goodness these ladies volunteer their time to assist both the digitizers and the hunters.  We cannot possibly thank them enough for the their dedication to the designfesthunt.  However, I want to publicly say THANK YOU to each and every one of them for making my  job and that of the other digitizers much easier.

Hi Aussie Bear here. I am a moderator on a few of the DAB  groups and lead Mod on the DAB N More Gifts group.  I work behind the scenes getting the designs ready for the DFH hunt.  Have been doing the hunts since they started but have only been involved with the behind the scenes side of it this year.

In real life I am Adele... I am 63 years young.  I have been  married to Barry for 28 years next month. I have 2 children Karen 43 and Peter 40 this year and 2 grand children Sam 15 and Rebekah 7.

I learnt to hand sew in school. I graduated to a sewing machine after I left school and have sewn all my kids clothes when they were babies and also do crochet and knitting.

I discovered Machine embroidery in 1999 after my Mum passed on.  Then  lately I have been Quilting and have found this to be very enjoyable too.

We live here with our farm animals and Jewel our fur baby who is very spoilt.

I love working in the groups and have made some very Dear Friends who mean the world to me.

My name is Jill A.K.A. Boop Bear.  A few months back Momma Bear asked me to Help with clues and said I needed a bear name. My favorite character is Betty Boop so it seemed natural to continue with that theme. Almost everything I have is Betty Boop. I use to ride Harley's that is where that comes from but a bad case of vertigo has grounded me.  So I sew Instead.

Currently I Am The DFH Coordinator with the fantastic help of all the DFH Bears  and the DFH Website Webmaster, Helping on Groups, Doing HOB projects and where ever else I can. Sort of a Jill of all trades LOL.

I Live in Reno Nevada with my Husband of 38 years. We have 4 kids 3 boys and 1 girl from the ages of 37-20.  My first grandchild Joseph was born on 9/23/11. YEAH.  We own our own business and I do the computer work.

I'm a self taught quilter and bought my first embroidery machine 10 years ago. so naturally I include a lot of embroidery in my quilts.  I enjoy all kinds of cross stitch and always make a quilt for every newborn in the family in hand cross stitch and machine embroidery.  I'm the favorite Aunt to many LOL. (related or not)

Hi, I'm Sylvia, aka Flutterby Bear.  I live in South Carolina with my husband of 44 years, and my black cat, Piwakit, who rules the roost.  While I am one of the newer Bear Helpers, I am probably the oldest in "people years."  So I can't decide if I'm really young or really old!

I learned to sew in 4H as a child, and made most of my own clothing until jobs "in the real world" took over my time.  When I retired, I took up sewing again and discovered machine embroidery.  I did craft shows for several years until the economy made it impractical, and now I do business out of my home.

I am a moderator on Creative Bear and More  I love collecting designs and figuring out where to use them.  The hardest part is having the time to finish all my ideas!

Hi....my name is Kim....aka Geek Bear. I've been a member of the Design Fest Hunt since the very beginning. I've only been a helper bear for about the last year.

In my non-bear life....I'm 43 years old. I've been married to Brian, my high school sweetheart, for 21 years. We have one daughter, Kayman, who will be 16 this year. She has Asperger's Syndrome, which isn't such a bad thing for a teenage girl!!!!

When I'm not embroidering, sewing, or quilting.... I love computers. We have a very small computer repair business. I also substitute teach. Love the kids....and am seriously considering going back to school and get my teaching degree. Am I crazy?????

Hi there - I'm Koala Bear and I've been a helper bear since the beginning of 2008, I was the first bear helper. Love doing the hunts, that's the easy part, the tricky bit is making up the hints. At 16, I'll forever be the big sister.

In my other life, I'm Cheryl in Aus aged 62. I've been married to David, my soul mate, for 21 years. I'm mother to 3 and grandma to 10.

I'm an RN, working in mental health, but just casual shifts now. Also have a job running the computer systems at SISC (the Olympic Shooting Centre in Sydney) for most of the International Competitions held there.

I've only been embroidering by machine since late 2006. Currently have 3 embroidery machines, 2 Janome 11000 updated to SE and my newest baby, a Brother 620.

Hello there I am Winter Bear. As a bear I am only 12 and will always be!  I have adorable little sisters and love doing things with them.

I help Momma out with DFH and Bear Club Quilt group. I also help my sisters out with Momma’s Designs and Bears yahoo group and Designs and Bears and more yahoo group. I just love helping with these groups since they are so much fun everyone is so friendly and helpful.

But in real live I have to admit to being 52, I am a mother of 4 wonderful children 3 are mine and one is Clark’s my wonderful husband of many years.  For the life of me I can’t remember how many years.

I am the proud Gramma of 6 grandchildren I have been blessed with 3 girls and 3 boys.  I also have two wonderful furr babies who keep me active.

I have an embroidery machine that seems to be having a love affair with the repair man, right now they are both MIA, need to save for a new machine and marry this one off to the repair man, lol.

 My name is Maggie Thurston
 Grandmother of 3 boys and 5 girls ranging in age from 8 months to 16 yrs. I ride a Honda Gold Wing Trike, love to read, Love using my sewing/embroidery machine when time permits.  I was born in 1948.

I am a high school graduate, worked 16 yrs in the auto industry until a very bad car accident put me on disability.  Have been married for 46 yrs this coming October.
 
We live outside a small town in Michigan,  have lived in the same house for  35 yrs there and do the winter Texan thing now during the cold Michigan winters.

Hello, I am RedRose. Bear, a Northern Hemisphere bear.
God, family and sewing are my life. I sometimes think I was born with a needle in my hand. Just 6 months ago browsing the computer while taking care of my Grammie, I found Design Fest Hunt. All the little grey cells in my brain lit up! I never knew a home embroidery machine could create such beautiful, intricate designs.
The bears, cubs and group members are so helpful, creative and funny, I knew I had found my clan. I am very proud to now be a bear helper and am looking forward to creating beautiful projects with the DFH members…you color my world. RedRose.Bear

Hi my name is Darlene I was born in Frankfurt Germany. My Dad was in the army, so I have dual citizenship, and my Mom and 3 older siblings went to Germany to be with my Dad.  My Mom came home with 4 kids about a year later. We came home on an ocean liner, what fun if I had been had I been old enough to enjoy it, I was 6 weeks old. I have 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Both my parents and my middle brother have gone to be with Jesus. My Dad stayed in the army until I was 5 yrs, old. Then we moved to Arkansas, that is where my Mom was from. We lived in Arkansas most of my growing up years. But moving was in my Dad's blood and we moved alot, sometimes just across the street.
     Many years later I am in Indiana where I meet my husband Howard. We have two sons, Derek and Matthew. Two grandchildren, Adam and Sophie. Matthew and Sophie went to be with the Lord. Matthew was Sophie's dad. Adam is 7 now, he is the apple of my eye. We have a little fur baby, a rat terrier. She is spoiled rotten. I am on SS Disability. I love to sew, embroider, crochet, knit, read and fish  with my son and husband. My husband drives a fuel truck and goes to the coal mine to fuel the equipment.

    A little information about me, I was an Air Force Brat for 22 years. So I moved frequently and got to enjoy learning about new places. I still love to travel. I live with my husband of 31 years and two sons in Austin, TX.  I love to watch football and baseball. I worked in the library in both high school and college. I love to read and still haunt the library. I retired in 2003 from the Postal Service to be home with my youngest son who has cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus.

    My Mom gave me her old Brother PC-8500D. I loved the embroidery I could do with it. She gave me the Brother Quarto but she has visiting rights. I did hand embroidery and cross stitch for years but I prefer the machine now. I love everything about machine embroidery, but my favorite embroidery is FSL.I found Carol’s website and joined her yahoo group.      Then DFH started, I was hooked. When she needed new bear cub, I jumped at the chance to join the bear family.
